Premier Kim Tok Hun Inspects North, South Phyongan and Jagang Provinces

Premier of the Cabinet Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, inspected various fields in North and South Phyongan provinces and Jagang Province.

Visiting farms in Anju and Kaechon cities, Kujang, Hyangsan, Songwon and Jonchon counties and other areas, he called for directing all efforts to good farming for this year according to phased goals and plans to carry out the resolutions made at the 7th plenary meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK, to doing immediate farming qualitatively in the right time including early crop manuring and tending and rice seedling growing, in particular.

He also urged cities and counties to supply farms with various quality organic and mineral fertilizers suited to their regional specific conditions and step up the work for readjusting and reinforcing irrigation facilities.

At the Myohyangsan Medical Appliances Factory, the premier stressed the need to strengthen cooperation with scientific research institutes and enhance the level of technical skill of workers so as to steadily improve the quality of medical appliances and substantially contribute to the development of the country's public health and the promotion of people's health.

He also visited the Huichon Power Station and the Huichon Precision Machine Plant where he inquired in detail about their operation and stressed the need to produce much more electricity and rolling stock parts through better management of hydraulic structures and effective economic organization for higher production capacity.

In Kaechon City and Songwon and Jonchon counties, he learned about the quality of school uniforms. And in Kanggye City he toured several places to discuss the ways for improving the city management.

The field consultative meetings discussed the issue for officials in agricultural guidance institutions to fully discharge their responsibility and role in the efforts to attain the grain goal for this year, the issue for satisfactory and timely supply of farming materials to farms, the issue for face-lifting of Kanggye City and other issues and took relevant measures.

Earlier, the premier visited Hwasong Street to congratulate those who moved into new houses. And he came to Kim Chaek University of Technology and the housing construction site in Taephyong area to discuss the matters related to the manufacture of major custom-built equipment and the last stage housing project.
