Premier Inspects Various Units in Pyongyang

Kim Tok Hun, Presidium member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, inspected several light industrial and commercial establishments in Pyongyang City.

Inspecting the Songyo Knitwear Factory, the Pyongyang Daily Necessities Factory and the Pyongyang Footwear Factory, the premier said that the officials should struggle with redoubled efforts to unconditionally implement the decision of the 5th Enlarged Plenary Meeting of the 8th WPK Central Committee, which set the consumer goods production as one of the priority economic tasks for this year, and bring about remarkable progress in the consumer goods production so that the people can actually benefit from the light industry.

He stressed the need to wage a vigorous campaign for increased production with the people's demands in their life as a standard and promote the development and introduction of new technologies and the upgrading of production processes, mindful that the quality of products are guaranteed by high sci-tech force, and further the work for quality control in order to bring out quality consumer goods typical of their factories and units.

At the Pyongyang Department Store No. 1 and the West Pyongyang Department Store, he called for mapping out and carrying through a feasible stepwise goal for fundamentally improving the commercial service activities in the framework of the system and order set by the state and thus preserving the nature of the socialist commerce and tangibly contributing to the promotion of the people's material well-being.
