A Matter of the Greatest Concern of the Supreme Commander

One day in early December Juche 95 (2006), Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il inspected a unit of the Korean People’s Army, and acquainted himself with its supply service work.

In the mess hall, he stood before a board.

Hanging on the board was a plan of the Day for Soldiers.

He asked what food the soldiers liked most.

When an officer said that they liked a certain food most, he instructed the officers the detailed method of its cooking.

The Supreme Commander also learned about the state of the unit’s preparation of vegetables for winter. At the soybean storehouse he asked how many soybeans had been obtained for the soldiers.

This story is one of countless anecdotes telling the noble traits of Kim Jong Il, who always regarded soldiers as his sons and daughters and took warm care of them.
